When Is Surveillance the Right Tool?
Surveillance answers questions documents cannot: Is the "sick" employee running a competing business? Is your distributor diverting stock after hours? Is an insurance claimant genuinely injured? Where does the absconding debtor actually live and work? Is a spouse where they claim to be? When conduct, not paperwork, is the question, trained eyes are the answer.
What Makes Surveillance Legal, or Illegal?
The line is public versus private. Observing and photographing a person in public spaces, streets, markets, offices' exteriors, restaurants, is lawful. Entering private property, planting devices, intercepting calls, or recording inside private spaces is not and no evidence gathered that way survives in court anyway. Professional teams win cases precisely because they stay inside the line: everything they document is admissible.
How Does a Field Team Actually Operate?
- Planning: subject profile, routine mapping, route reconnaissance and team positioning before day one.
- Coverage: two-person minimum teams rotating positions and vehicles, single-investigator surveillance gets burned.
- Documentation: time-stamped photo and video logs with continuous narrative: who, where, when, doing what.
- Live updates: encrypted status reports to the client during the operation, not after it.
- Evidence pack: a final chronological report your lawyer can put before a court or disciplinary panel.
What Does Surveillance Evidence Prove in Court?
Indian courts and tribunals routinely accept properly documented surveillance evidence in matrimonial, labour, insurance and civil matters, provided it was gathered lawfully and the chain from lens to report is clean. That is why documentation discipline matters as much as the watching itself. Surveillance at Garuda Intelligence is run by senior field investigators with 15+ years of operational experience.
